The RESET Method at Brown Plastic Surgery & MedSpa is designed to slim you down and keep you there for decades. Our medically guided partnership strives to ensure that your overall health and weight loss lead to sustainable metabolic improvements and in the process, help prevent obesity related diseases like diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and the risk of worsening kidney disease.

Safety Concerns with Online Programs: Why Our In-Office RESET Method Is Superior

While online pharmacies offer lower cost options and conveniences, they often lack proper regulatory supervision. How and where the medications are manufactured and the importance of storage at a suitable temperature are often not disclosed to the consumer. Without proper surveillance and safety, quality is often compromised. Our RESET Method team has responsibly sourced the medications, and we are in steady contact with our pharmacy to safeguard against dangerous manufacturing conditions.

The RESET Method Medical Weight Loss Programs: Your Success Is Our Success

The RESET Method is designed to help patients lose weight safely and effectively while improving overall metabolic health. Each plan is individualized to match your health history, lifestyle, and personal goals. With our medical strategies, we determine which of the weight loss medications will target your appetite regulation, your metabolic function, and your fat loss. The right medication matters. Along with ongoing clinical oversight and personalized lifestyle coaching, The RESET Method provides a structured path to sustainable weight reduction. We continually monitor your weight loss progress, medication dosing and body composition. At each appointment, we track and adjust your customized plan to ensure a safe weight loss experience.

Am I a Candidate?

Our program is ideal for adults whose consistent diet and exercise efforts haven’t delivered results. For many patients, underlying metabolic factors make sustainable weight loss more challenging without medical support. Medical weight loss is especially effective for individuals dealing with obesity or metabolic resistance who need additional support beyond lifestyle efforts alone.

You may be a strong candidate for our program if you:

  • Have a BMI over 27 with weight-related health conditions
  • Struggle with appetite control, cravings or insulin resistance
  • Prefer a non-surgical, medically supervised solution
  • Are ready to commit to long-term, sustainable health improvements
  • Have hit a plateau despite consistent diet and exercise

Are there any conditions that make GLP-1/GIP medications unsuitable?

GLP-1/GIP medications are not recommended for individuals with:

  • History of Medullary Thyroid Cancer
  • MEN-2 Syndrome
  • Pancreatitis of unknown origin

A full medical evaluation determines candidacy.

Next Step: A Consultation

Your weight loss journey begins with a comprehensive consultation and medical evaluation to determine eligibility. During your first appointment, our Nurse Practitioner will:

  • Review of your medical history and current medications
  • Family / social / lifestyle history
  • Diet and exercise history
  • Weight gain / weight loss history
  • Assessment of vital signs and targeted physical exam
  • Waist circumference measurement
  • InBody Scan to analyze body composition. Weight, skeletal muscle mass, body fat mass and visceral fat mass will be our main areas of focus.
  • BMI calculation (though InBody Scan provides deeper insight beyond BMI alone)
  • Metabolic lab evaluation. Patients may bring any lab results from within 3 months of their initial consultation appointment for review.
  • Discussion of your weight loss goals, challenges, and lifestyle habits

Based on your evaluation, our practice will build a safe, effective plan designed for long-term weight loss success. We will customize a nutrition and lifestyle strategy developed to complement your treatment, including guidance on hydration, movement, and behavior modifications for lasting success. Our goal is not just weight loss but also a healthier, sustainable metabolic improvement that helps prevent and manage weight-related conditions.

Medical Weight Loss Medications

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are weight loss medications that mimic naturally occurring hormones in the body which control appetite, delay gastric emptying, and support improvements in blood sugar regulation. The result:

  • Increased satiety
  • Reduced cravings
  • Improved portion control
  • Sustainable calorie reduction without crash dieting

Patients typically experience gradual, consistent weight loss along with improved energy levels and better control of eating habits.

Realistic Expectations and Results

Most patients on Semaglutide or Tirzepatide begin noticing changes within the first few weeks, typically experiencing a drop in appetite, fewer cravings, and more control when it comes to food. Actual weight loss tends to build gradually over time, with the most visible results happening between months two and four as your dose increases and your body adjusts. Like any medical weight-loss program, results vary based on consistency, lifestyle, and proper dosing. This is where medical supervision is important. We monitor you closely and adjust your plan as needed. The goal isn’t rapid or extreme weight loss, but steady, sustainable progress that protects your metabolism and supports long-term success.

FAQs

These medications help regulate blood sugar and appetite, leading to weight loss. However, it’s crucial to understand that medications alone aren’t a magic solution. Most successful weight loss comes from a combination of a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and addressing any underlying health conditions.

Semaglutide and tirzepatide are prescription weight-loss medications that mimic natural hormones that regulate appetite, blood sugar and digestion. They help reduce hunger, curb cravings, feel full for longer, and increase insulin sensitivity to support steady, sustainable weight loss when used under medical supervision.

Semaglutide works on the GLP-1 pathway to increase fullness and reduce food intake. Tirzepatide works on the GLP-1 and GIP pathways, which can make it more powerful for some patients by enhancing appetite control and fat metabolism.

When prescribed and monitored by a medical professional, both medications are considered safe and effective for qualified candidates. We use a vetted pharmacy in the United States, review your health history, monitor labs when needed, and adjust your treatment plan to minimize risk.

Insulin resistance happens when your pancreas produces excess insulin to maintain blood sugar levels. Elevated insulin can lead to fat being stored as visceral fat, which is more challenging to burn and can create weight loss difficulties.

Most patients notice a reduction in appetite and cravings within the first few weeks. Visible weight loss typically builds between months two and four as dosing is optimized. Our focus is steady, sustainable progress, not extreme or rapid weight loss. Weight loss that is too rapid can lead to muscle loss, nutritional deficiencies, and other health issues.

You’ll have at least four in-person and two virtual appointments over the 6-month duration of the program. Between visits, you’ll have direct access to your provider for additional support. For added convenience, we also offer virtual appointments.

Regular physical activity can enhance weight loss, improve mood, and support long-term maintenance. Loss of muscle mass while using weight loss medications is a major concern and will be monitored regularly with InBody Scans. We will work with you to create a realistic strength training plan that fits your schedule and ability.

Plateaus are normal in any weight loss journey. If your progress slows, we evaluate your treatment plan, review lifestyle factors, and adjust your program to keep you moving forward.

Once you reach your goal weight, we will continue to support your weight loss success. To ensure ongoing progress and support, in-office follow-up appointments will be required every 3 months to continue receiving prescriptions. During these appointments, we will review your progress, perform an InBody Scan and make any necessary adjustments to your diet, exercise plan, and medications.

Online sources may sell counterfeit or improperly compounded medications. You cannot verify dosing accuracy, storage conditions, or product authenticity. We work exclusively with a vetted pharmacy based in the United States to ensure your medication is legitimate, properly dosed, and safely handled. Your health is too important to risk.

Your exact cost depends on the medication prescribed for you. Cost and information on what is included in your program are provided during consultation.

We do not participate with health insurance plans. Medical weight loss is considered an elective wellness service.
