A face lift is a surgical procedure performed to improve visible signs of aging in the face and neck to improve sagging in the midface; deep creases below the lower eyelids; deep creases along the nose extending to the corners of the mouth; fat that has fallen or is displaced; loss of muscle tone in the lower face that may create jowls; or loose skin and excess fatty deposits under the chin and jaw that can make even a person of normal weight appear to have a double chin. Other rejuvenating procedures that may be done in conjunction with a face lift are a brow lift, which corrects sagging or a deeply furrowed brow, or eyelid surgery, which rejuvenates aging eyes.
There are a few different approaches that can be used with a face lift procedure. This will determine the length and placement of your incision(s), which will be concealed in a natural facial crease or in your hairline.
